Noosa Boat Club from strength to strength

The Noosa Boat Club was incorporated in June 2009 and is possible Australia’s newest rowing club. Rowing commenced in earnest in late 2009 and since then the club has increased the fleet to 2 singles, 2 doubles, a pair, 2 quads and, in the near future, an eight. There are also many private singles which means Lake Macdonald, near Cooroy in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, can be a crowded place in the mornings.

Learn to Row courses are conducted constantly and there is plenty of interest from the surrounding population, with membership increasing quite quickly.

Hannah starts preparation for final selection trials (Aug 4th 2010)

With her World Cup Medal now part of history Hannah has set her sights on re affirming her place in the Australian Lightweight Double scull for the upcoming trials.

The trials will take place at Penrith outside Sydney from August 23rd - 26th. The final Australian Team for this years World Rowing Titles in New Zealand in OCT/NOV will be announced at the conclusion of the trials.

Australia wins gold

Competing in Lucerne, Hannah has partnered with Alice McNamara to stage a stunning comeback and win gold at the 2010 World Cup.

Despite solid form through out the regatta, they were drawn in the outside lane and used it to their advantage. Slipping under everyone's guard (including the commentators), the Australian combination posted a blistering 3rd 500m to move from 5th to 1st.

They maintained the lead through the last 500m to take the Gold Medal from the highly fancied British team.

The girls are now back in Canberra preparing for the final selection trial before heading to NZ for the Nov World Championships
